UGC has introduced a Test at entry level (Assistant Professor / Lecturer) in consultation with academicians and State education secretaries. The Test conducted by UGC and UGC/CSIR is referred as the National Eligibility Test (NET) while the equivalent test conducted by State government is called State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) or State Eligibility Test (SET). The structure of Gujarat State Eligibility Test is not so difficult to understand. GSET Examination will consist of Two papers. Both the papers will consist of only objective type questions having multiple choice of answers. Below provided table gives a clear idea about the questionnaire.

GSET PAPER-I: Paper-I shall consist of 50 compulsory questions each carrying 02 marks only. The questions which will be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of candidate. Paper-I will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of applicant.

GSET PAPER-II: Paper-II shall consist of 100 compulsory questions. Each will carry 02 marks. Questions of Paper-II will be based on the subject concern of candidate.

There is no provision of negative marking for incorrect answers. Candidates kindly note that there is no provision of re-evaluations of exam papers of GSET.
