Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandant) Examination, abbreviated as, CAPF (AC) Exam is conducted every year by Union Public Service Commission. It is conducting for recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group-A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) viz. Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandant) Exam-2018 has comp-up with following Three Hundred Ninety Eight (398) vacancy openings.

What Are The Eligibility Standards Of “CAPF (AC) Exam”?

A. Qualification Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of a University in any discipline. Only the Indian citizen may apply.
B. Experience No experience is mandatory. However, Possession of NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificate will be a desirable qualification.
C. Age Bar minimum 20 years to maximum 25 years as on 01.08.2018, i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1993 and not later than 01.08.1998. Upper age limit is relaxable according to the rules of central govt of India.
D. Physical Standards Following are the minimum requirements of CAPF (AC) physical standards.
» Height (for Men): 165 cm
» Height (for Women): 157 cm
» Chest (for Men): 81 cm (unexpanded), with minimum 05 cm of expansion
» Chest (for Women): Not applicable
» Weight (for Men): 50 kg
» Weight (for Women): 46 kg
E. Gender Male & Female both type of candidates may apply to CAPF Assistant Commandant Exam.

How May I Apply To UPSC CAPF (AC) Examination?

A. Application Fee: Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India, or by using Credit/Debit Card. Female/SC/ST candidates who are exempted from payment of fee.

What Is The Selection Procedure Of CAPF (AC) Exam?

What Is The Pattern Of CAPF (AC) Exam?

A. Written Test (Paper-I): This will based on General Ability and Intelligence. This will have questions of objective (multiple answers) type with a total weightage of 250 Marks. Time duration of Paper-I will be maximum 02 hours. Paper will be set bilingual, i.e. in English as well as Hindi.

B. Written Test (Paper-II): This paper will based on study of General Studies, Essay and Comprehension. This will have a total weightage of 200 Marks. In this paper candidates will be allowed the option of writing the Essay Component in English or Hindi language, but the medium of Precis Writing, Comprehension Components and other communications/ language skills will be English only. Time duration of Paper-I will be maximum 03 hours.

What Is The Syllabus Of CAPF (AC) Exam?

The written examination of CAPF (AC) will comprise of two papers. The details of both papers are given below.
CAPF AC 2018 Paper I Syllabus
A. Written Test (Paper-I): This will based on General Ability and Intelligence. This will have a total of 250 Marks. Questions of Paper-I will be of Objective (Multiple Answers) Type. Paper will be set bilingual, i.e. in English as well as Hindi.

Topic Details
1. Mental Ability Questions will be designed to test logical reasoning and quantitative aptitude of candidate including numerical ability, and data interpretation.
2. General Science Topics will be covered from general awareness, scientific temper, comprehension and
appreciation of scientific phenomena of everyday observation of an aware citizen. New areas of importance like Information Technology, Biotechnology, Environmental Science will also be included.
3. Current Affairs The section will be set to check the candidates’ awareness of current events of national and international importance. Questions will be set from the broad areas of culture, music, arts, literature, sports, governance, societal and developmental issues, industry, business, globalisation, and interplay among nations.
4. Indian Polity & Economy This shall aim to assess knowledge of candidates regarding the Country’s political system, Constitution of India, social systems and public administration. Questions will also be asked from economic development in India, regional and international security issues and human rights including its indicators.
5. History of India This will broadly cover the subjects of India’s social, economic and political aspects. Areas of growth of nationalism and freedom movement of India shall also be included.
6. Geography Knowledge This shall cover the knowledge of physical, social and economic aspects of geography pertaining to India and the World.

CAPF AC 2018 Paper II Syllabus
B. Written Test (Paper-II): This paper will based on study of General Studies, Essay and Comprehension. In this paper candidates will be allowed the option of writing the Essay Component in English or Hindi language, but the medium of Precis Writing, Comprehension Components and other communications/ language skills will be English only.

PART-A Essay questions will be set in the Part-A which are to be answered in long narrative form either in Hindi or English language totaling 80 Marks. The topics will covers modern Indian history especially of the freedom struggle, geography, polity and economy, knowledge of security and human rights issues, and analytical ability.
PART-B Comprehension, précis writing, other communications/language skills will be tested through Part-B. It is to be attempted in English language only (Marks 120). Topics will be Comprehension passages, précis writing, developing counter arguments, simple grammar and other aspects of language testing.

NOTE: Candidates should note that there will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers
marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Paper. Candidates should also ensure that in Paper-II they write the answers only in the medium allowed by the Commission for the different Components. There will be a provision of obtaining minimum qualifying marks separately in each papers. Paper-I will be evaluated first and evaluation of Paper-II will be done only of those candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the Paper-I.

Which Physical Efficiency Tests Are To Be Conducted For CAPF (AC) Exam?

Physical Standards/ Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests are mandatory to be qualified. Following are the details of PET.
A. 100 Meters race to be completed in 16 seconds for Male; and in 18 seconds for Female.
B. 800 Meters race to be completed in 3 minutes 45 seconds for Male; and in 4 min 45 seconds for Female.
C. Long Jump of 3.5 Meters to be completed in 3 chances for Male
D. Long Jump of 3 Meters to be completed in 3 chances for Female
E. Shot-put of 7.26 kgs for 4.5 meters.
Note: Pregnancy at the time of PET will be a disqualification and pregnant female candidate will be rejected.

CAPF AC 2018 Interview/ Personality Test

Candidates who are declared qualified in Physical Standards Test/ Physical Efficiency Test/ Medical Standards Test, will be called further for Interview/Personality Test. Candidates who are declared medically unfit but allowed to appear before the “Review Medical Board” on their appeal by the Appellate Authority will be called for Interview/ Personality Tests provisionally. Candidates will be issued a Detailed Application Form (DAF) in which among other things, they will be required to indicate their preference of Forces. Interview/ Personality Test will carry a total of 150 Marks.

Admit Card
Union Public Service Commission has issued the schedule of CAPF Assistant Commandants Exam 2018. The written test of examination is set to be conducted on 12.08.2018.
