Assam Police Selection Process — Constables Posts

I. Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidate must have to meet the required physical standards, to qualify the PST stage. Measurement standards of height, chest and weight can be accessed from the below given link.

II. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) :Candidates who cleared PST will be required to appear in PET. RFID sensors may be used for this event. The PET consists of several events. Details of physical test are available at below link.

III. Written Exam: Written test will consist of 100 questions of multiple choice of answers. For each correct answer the candidate will get half a mark. Standard of questions will be equivalent to the level of class IX and X. Total marks for the Written Test will be 50. There will be no negative marking.

IV. Extra Curricular Activities: At this stage marks will be given to the outstanding for Extra Curricular Activities and Special Skills. Break-up of marks are given below.

A. NCC ‘C’ Certificate. 03
B. NCC ‘B’ Certificate. 02
C. NCC ‘A’ Certificate. 01
D. Proficiency in computers (Certificate/Diploma course or Degree) 1 to 5
E. Diploma/Certificate course from ITI/Polytechnic. 1 to 3

V. Marks for Academic Excellency: At this stage marks will be given to the candidates on the basis of academic performance. Break up of weightage to marks obtained in HSLC for Male, and class VIII for Female candidates.

Percentage Marks
A. 45 – 59.99% marks 02
B. 60-74.99% marks 03
C. 75% and above marks 05

VI. Medical Fitness Test: Candidates must not have squint eyes, Varicose vein, diabetes, hernia, piles, respiratory diseases etc. He/ She must be in good mental and physical health. Distant vision should be 6/6 for at least one eye and not poorer that 6/9 for the other without correction. Near vision should be normal.

VII. Final Results: Merit list/ Select list will be prepared at the last stage based on the total marks obtained by the candidates. Marks will be calculated on the basis of Physical Efficiency Test (max 40), Written Test (max 50), Extra-curricular activities/skills (max 10) and Academic excellence.


Assam Police Recruitment Procedure — Sub-Inspector Police Posts

I. Written Test: Written exam will be of 100 marks having 100 questions. Each question will be of 1 (one) mark. There will be negative marking of ½ (0.5) mark for each wrong answer. Duration of the test will be of Three hours.

Subject/ Test
A. Logical reasoning, aptitude, comprehension.
B. Matters relating to History and Culture of Assam and India.
C. General knowledge, and general studies.

II. Physical Standard Test (PST): Appropriate Standard equipment for measuring height, chest and weight shall be used. Measurement standards of height, chest and weight can be accessed from the below given link. PST will be qualifying in nature.

E. Additional Degrees- MA/M.Sc/M.Com/LLB/MBA/LLM/PG. 06

Assam Police Selection Methodology — Jail Warder Posts

Eligible candidates will have to undergo the Physical Standard Tests (PST) and Physical Efficiency Tests (PET). If any candidate is found to have any physical deformity, he/ she will be debarred from participating in the other tests.
I. Physical Standard Test (PST): Appropriate Standard equipment for measuring height, chest and weight shall be used. If a candidate does not meet the required standard, he/she will be rejected by issuing the Rejection Slip. Measurement standards of height, chest and weight can be accessed from the below given link.

II. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) :Candidates who cleared PST will be admitted to appear in PET. RFID sensors may be used for this event. The PET consists of several events. Details of physical test are available at below link.

III. Written Test: Written examination will consist of 75 multiple choice type questions. Each question shall have one mark. There will be no negative marking. Total marks for the Written Test will be 75. The question paper will consist of following topics.
