Gauhati High Court Clerk Eligibility

Law Clerk: Graduate or Post Graduate in Law or Doctorate degree in Law. Candidate practicing at the Bar or having professional experience or literary works in Law to their credit would get preference.

Age Limit: Age limit for general candidates is 18 to 40 years. However, relaxation in upper age is admissible up to 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Gauhati High Court Clerk Syllabus

STAGE-I: Written examination (Objective type multiple choices) is for 120 marks of 2 hours duration on OMR sheet. Questions come from English Proficiency (30 marks), GK (10 marks), General Aptitude (10 marks), knowledge in Law (50 marks) as well as knowledge of Assamese language (20 marks). The Assamese language segment is of qualifying nature and candidate securing at least 40% i.e 12 out of 20 marks in the Assamese language segment will be treated as qualified to appear in the Interview/Viva -voce.
