Selection Process Details

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) regularly conducts Common Recruitment Process for the engagement of Specialist Officers in various disciplines viz. Law, Information Technology, Marketing, Agriculture, Human Resources/Personnel and Official Language etc. These Officers are recruited to be places in various Public Sector Banks and Financial Institutions. Selection Procedure: IBPS conducts two stages for the completion of Common Recruitment Process. These two stages are (I) Common Written Examination and (II) Common Interview.

Common Written Examination (CWE): CWE consists of Objective Type Questions in Bilingual format, except for English test. Marks for Common Written Examination are 200 maximum. 120 minutes are given as time duration to solve out the paper. Negative marking is also provisioned for wrong answers, ticked by candidates in paper. 0.25% of the marks assigned to the specific question deducted as wrong marking penalty.

Common Interview: Only the andidates who have been shortlisted in CWE for CRP SPL will subsequently be called for Interview. This is to be conducted by Participating Organisations and coordinated by nodal banks with the help of IBPS. Interview has a weightage of maximum 100 marks. Qualifying marks for interview is 40% (35% marks in case of SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD applicants). The ratio of Online CWE and Interview in CRP is 80:20.

Provisional Allotment: On completion of the interview process, depending on the vacancies to be filled, candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the Participating Organisations. This process shall be based on merit-cum-preference basis as per Govt. Guidelines on reservation policy. Provisional allotment shall be done on the basis of final vacancies to be reported by the Participating Organizations/Banks. Please note that No change in the data already registered by the candidate in the online application form is possible later at any stage.

The decision of IBPS in provisional allotment of a candidate to a Participating Organisation shall be final and binding upon the selected candidates. Offer of appointment is solely the decision of the Participating Organisations and shall be final and binding.
