West Bengal Forest Service Examination Eligibility Criteria…

Pay for W.B.F.S. is Rs.15600-42000 Grade Pay Rs.5400/- whereas pay for W.B.S.F.S. is Rs.7100-37600 Grade Pay Rs.3900/-. D.A, M.A, H.R.A and other allowances will be applicable as per rules.

PSCWB WBFS & WBSFS Exam-2018 Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering with at least one of the following subjects — Agriculture, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Application, Computer Science, Engineering (Agricultural, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical), Forestry, Geology, Horticulture, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Veterinary Science, Zoology and Environmental Science. Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not for those mother tongue is Nepali) is essential. Experience is not required. 21-36 years as on 01.01.2018

PSCWB Forest Service Competitive Exam 2018 Selection Procedure…

Following are the successive stages of PSCWB Forest Service Exam 2018. Candidates must have to qualify all these steps one-by-one. Only the successful candidate of one stage, shall be admitted to appear in further stage(s) of selection.

  1. Physical measurement test and Walking test (qualifying)
  2. Objective type preliminary examination (200 marks)
  3. Main written examination (700 marks for WBFS/500 marks for WBSFS)
  4. Interview/personality test (200 marks for WBFS/100 marks for WBSFS)

Below are the exam pattern of Preliminary and Main examination. You can also download the detailed structure of exam in Pdf format here.
Scheme of Preliminary Exam
Preliminary examination will consist of one paper “General Studies and Arithmetic”. Question paper will be of objective type having 200 multiple choice questions. Preliminary exam will be of 200 marks having a total duration of 2½ hours (150 minutes). The standard of exam will be of the level Graduate of a recognized Indian University. Exam will include questions covering the following topics.

NOTE: Preliminary examination is a screening test only for the purpose of shortlisting of candidates for the Main examination. Marks obtained in prelims will not be considered for Final Selection. Candidates who will be declared qualified in Preliminary will be eligible for admission to Main Examination.
Scheme of Main Examination
The Main Examination shall include compulsory and optional papers. Candidate shall take all the compulsory papers and two out of the optional papers. Each paper carries 100 marks. Each paper will be of three hours’ duration.

PSCWB Forest Service Exam 2018 Personality Test (Interview)…

Personality Test/Interview will carry 200 marks for the WBFS and 100 marks for the WBSFS. Candidates will be shortlisted in order of merit in Main Examination for the Personality Test. Candidate will be asked questions on matters of general interest. The purpose of interview will be to assess the personal qualities of the candidate, e.g. alertness of mind, power of clear and logical exposition, intellectual and moral integrity, leadership etc.
