Job description: Applications are being invited by Geological Survey of India to fill-up 37 vacant posts of Ordinary Grade Driver in the field areas of southern areas covering Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry on direct recruitment. Details of research areas, vacancy notification and instructions are as given in the table below.

  1. Starting date of application: 29.04.2019
  2. Closing date of application: 26.06.2019
Application Fee:
  • SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempted from application fee
  • Rs.300/- for General, OBC, EWS, Ex-servicemen
  • Fee is payable by Online mode.
Qualification: Matriculation or its equivalent pass. A valid driving license for both heavy & light motor vehicles. 3 years experience in driving trucks/jeeps etc.
Age limit: Maximum 25 years as on closing date of application.
Selection process: Selection will be done through open competitive examination by holding trade test (practical and written). Syllabus of exam will include:

  • Able to read English numerals and figures.
  • Knowledge of traffic rules and regulations.
  • Able to identify defects and carryout minor repairs
  • Change wheels and correctly inflate tyres.
