Teacher Recruitment Board (TRB) is the recruitment body for selection to the posts of Lecturer (Engineering / Non Engineering) in Govt. Polytechnic Colleges in Tamilnadu. Written Examination

The written competitive examination will consist of a single paper of 3 hours duration. There will be total 150 multiple choice based questions in the paper. Break-up of marks is available below.
Main Subject (1 Mark questions) : Total 100
Main Subject (2 Marks questions) : Total 40
General Knowledge (1 Mark questions) : Total 10
The question paper for all subjects will be of objective type with multiple choice questions in English only. Questions in the main subject will be based on the subject for which the candidate has applied for. The syllabi of the written exam is available here.

Awarding Weightage Marks

The Board will prepare the list of Candidates for Certificate Verification in the ratio of 1:2 based on the marks obtained in Written Examination. Candidates have to personally present for the Certificate Verification. Weightage of marks will be as per detailed below.
A. For teaching experience of 2 years and above, on Full or Time basis : 02 Marks
B. M.E / M.Tech or M.Phil degree in the relevant subject : 03 Marks
C. For Ph.D in the relevant subject : 05 Marks

After certificate verification, the total marks secured by each candidate will be arrived at by adding weightage marks to the written examination marks. Merit list will prepared on this basis. Selection will be made from the merit list.
