Selection will be made on the basis of performance of candidates in Written Test, Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) and Interview. The Written Test, Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) and Interview will be held in Kolkata. Below is the selection methodology of Sub Assistant Engineer in West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (WBSEDCL).

Written Examination: The Written Test will have the questions based on General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Reasoning, General English and Arithmetic. Apart from the said tests, the knowledge in the respective professional subjects/areas will also be assessed through different type of questions. Securing minimum qualifying marks, as set by WBSEDCL, will not entitle a candidate to the next stage of the selection process. Total weight-age of the written test will be 100 marks.

Computer Proficiency Test: In Computer Proficiency Test (CPT), questions will be set to examine the proficiency of candidates in MS Office (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point). Total weight-age of the written test will be 20 marks.

Interview: Candidates, who will be declared qualified in Written Test and Computer Proficiency Test, will further be called to appear in the Interview. Total weight-age of the written test will be 30 marks. After conducting the interview session(s) a final merit list shall be prepared for the recommendation/appointment in West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (WBSEDCL). Candidates should be medically fitted to be get selected/appointed in the WBSEDCL.
