West Bengal Clerkship Eligibility Norms

Clerkship (LDA/LDC) Rs.5400–25200 GP Rs.2600/- Pass in Madhyamik examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent. 4. Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali is essential (not required for whose mother tongue is Nepali). 18 to 40 years as on 01.01.2019 (i.e. born not earlier than 02.01.1979 and not later than 01.01.2001)

WB Clerkship Selection Procedure

WB Clerkship examination will be held in two successive stages, viz., (i) Part-I (Objective Type) and (ii) Part-II (Conventional Type – Written). Elementary knowledge in computer operation and ability of typing on computer shall be judged only after qualifying in Part-I and Part-II of examination. Candidates who will be selected for appointment will be required to pass the medical fitness test.

WB Clerkship Exam Pattern

PART PARTICULARS DURATION
Part-I Part-I will carry 100 marks having 100 questions of 1 (one) mark each. This will comprising of multiple choice objective type question on English (30 marks), General Studies (40 marks) and Arithmetic (30 marks). 1 hour 30 minutes
Part-II Part-II shall consist of conventional type questions on (a)Group-A: English and (b)Group-B: Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali. This will carry 50 marks each for Group-A and Group-B. 1 hour
Computer Test Elementary knowledge of Computer operation and typing on Computer shall be judged only after clearing the Part-I and Part-II.
WB Clerkship Syllabus 2019

PART SUBJECT SYLLABUS
Part-I Test of English Fundamentals of the English language such as vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage etc.
General Studies Matters of everyday observation including everyday science, current events and problems with special reference to India and elementary knowledge of Indian History and Indian Geography.
Arithmetic Divisibility, fractions, decimals, recurring decimals, simplification, HCF, LCM, Partnership, Average, Ratio and proportions, percentage, simple interest, profit & loss, time & distance, area of rectangles and squares.
Part-II Group-A : English Drafting of report in English from points or materials supplied; Condensing of a prose passage (Summary/Precis); Translation from Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali, as the case may be, into English.
Group-B : Regional Language Test of regional language amongst Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali.
