TNPSC Civil Judge Eligibility Norms
Followings are the Magistrate Exam Eligibility in Tamilnadu.

Qualification as on 09.09.2019: | Law Graduate possessing a degree in Law. Must be eligible to be enrolled as an advocate. Degree should be passed with al least 50% marks for Open Category and 45% marks for Reserved categories. | Degree in Law and must be practising as an Advocate or Pleader in any Court for a period of not less than 3 years (or) Must be an Assistant Public Prosecutor having not less than 3 years of experience. |

TNPSC Civil Judge Selection Procedure
Merit shall be made on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the Main Written Examination & Viva-Voce. The selection of TNPSC Civil Judge will be based on the following successive stages.
- Phase-I: Preliminary examination for 100 marks
- Phase-II: Main examination for 400 marks
- Phase-III: Viva–Voce Test for 60 marks
Tamil Nadu Judicial Exam Pattern
The Tamil Nadu Judicial Examination 2019 will be conducted in two phases. Phase-I will be preliminary objective type test whereas Phase-II will be Main Written Exam. Only the applicants qualified in Preliminary exam will be allowed to appear in Main Written Exam. Pattern of both exams will be as following.
- TNPSC Civil Judge Preliminary Exam Pattern
Preliminary Exam will consist of only one paper containing 100 multiple choice questions based on the syllabus prescribed. Question paper will be set in both English and Tamil language. Each question shall carry one mark; and, 0.25 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer as negative marking. The duration of the Preliminary Exam will be three hours. This exam is conducted for the sole purpose of shortlisting the candidates for Mains Exam. Marks obtained in Preliminary Exam shall not be counted for determining the final merit list.
