SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Matriculation Examination or equivalent in any subject.
Age Limit: Age limit for general candidates is 18 to 25 years. However, relaxation in upper age is admissible up to 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
SSC MTS Exam Scheme
The SSC MTS Examination is a computer based exam. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) is applicable only for the post of Havaldar. Written examination is to be conduct in two sessions i.e Session-I and Session-II. Session-I is consist of multiple choice questions from Reasoning and Math whereas Session-II contain questions from English language and General Awareness. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

SSC MTS Exam Syllabus
English: Test of the basics of English Language, vocabulary, grammar, structure of sentence, synonyms, antonyms and writing ability, etc.
General Intelligence and Reasoning: Questions of non-verbal type including similarities and differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation etc. In addition, questions from relationship concepts, figure classification, arithmetical numbers, non-verbal series etc. This part also include questions to test the abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship etc.
Numerical Aptitude: Questions from Number systems, Numbers computation, Decimals and Fractions etc. In addition, questions from Fundamental arithmetic, Percentage, Average, Ratio and Proportion, Interest, Profit and Loss, and Discount. Candidate has to be familiar with use of Tables and Graphs, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.
General Awareness: Questions from GK and general awareness of the environment around the candidate to test the knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience. The test also include questions from Geography, Culture, Sports, History, Indian Constitution and General Polity of India and its neighboring countries.
