Educational Qualification: Intermediate pass along with Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline. For ASI Steno posts, 12th class pass with shorthand speed of 80 wpm
Age Limit: Age limit for general candidates is min 20 whereas max 30 years. For ASI Steno posts, 18 to 25 years only. However, relaxation in upper age is admissible up to 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Written exam has objective type multiple choice questions. There are 150 questions for 150 marks. Each right question has 1 mark. There are two parts of question paper. Part-I contains questions from General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning and General English/General Hindi for 50 marks. On the other hand, Part-II consists of Technical Subject for 100 marks.
