Plan of Exam, Scheme & Syllabus of OPSC Odisha Judicial Service Examination

Odisha Public Service Commission is the conducting authority of OPSC Judicial Service Examination. This competitive exam is conducted in three successive stages; viz- (i) Preliminary written examination, (ii) Main written examination, and (iii) Interview.   1. Preliminary Examination

The preliminary examination shall be of one paper carrying 100 marks to be competed within a given duration of one and half hours. This will have objective type questions of multiple choice. Questions will be based on the following topics…

  • Code of Civil Procedure
  • Code of Criminal Procedure
  • Evidence Act
  • Indian Penal Code
  • Limitation Act
  • Transfer of Property Act
  • Contract Act
  • Law of Succession (Indian Succession Act and Hindu Succession Act)
  • Specific Relief Act
  1. Main Written Examination

The main written examination shall have two compulsory papers and three optional papers. Each of the compulsory subjects shall carry 150 marks with a duration of 150 minutes.

  1. Interview

Interview shall carry a total of 100 marks. Questions to be asked in the interview may not ordinarily be outside the syllabus prescribed for the main examination. In the interview, questions covering broad national and international issues and matters of common interest in the field of Arts and Science may also be asked.
