The selection process for the post of Assistant Class-III in New India Assurance Company Ltd (NIACL) consists of on-line test (Preliminary & Main Examination). Candidates qualifying in the Main Examination will further be shortlisted for Regional Language test before the final selection.

Tier I : Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination is an Online Objective Test having a total weight-age of 100 marks. This would be of one hour of duration and consist of 3 sections as follows in the table below:

The questions in objective tests, except for the test of English Language, will be made available bilingual i.e. in English & Hindi. Candidates will have to qualify in each test by securing passing marks to be decided by the Company later. Adequate number of candidates state-wise and category-wise as decided by the Company will be shortlisted for the Tier II-Main Examination.

Tier II : Main Examination

Main Examination will also conducted online as an objective test. This will have a composite time of 120 minutes. The structure of Main Examination will be as follows:

The questions in objective tests will be made available in English & Hindi. Candidates qualifying in Main Examination will be shortlisted and further called for Regional Language Test. No separate marks will be awarded for Regional Language Test and the test will be only qualifying in nature.

There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Online Objective Tests. For each wrong answer, one fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty. No marks will be deducted for un-attempted questions.
