Posts of Jail Prahari in the Department of Jail will be filled up by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB). The selection methodology will consist of following stages.
STAGE-I : Written Examination
» Pattern of Exam: Written test will consist of the questions of Multiple Choice Types. 100 questions will be set there with a total weight-age of 100 marks. Every question will be for 01 mark. Duration of the written test will be two hours. Only one question paper will be there in online test. Questions will be based on he topics of General Knowledge, General Hindi, General English, General Mathematics, and General Science. Toughness of the questions will be equivalent to the Matriculation standard.
» Merit List of Written Exam: Merit list of the eligible candidates will be prepared equivalent to the number of seven times of advertised vacancies of Jail Prahari. The candidates, who will shortlisted in the Merit List will only be allowed to appear in the second stage of selection process i.e. Physical Efficiency Test.
STAGE-II : Physical Efficiency Test
In this stage, candidates’ physical endurance will be tested. Various events will be conducted to examine the physical efficiency of candidates. The details of events are available below. Physical efficiency test will be qualifying in nature. No marks will be allotted to qualify this test.
» 800 Meter Race : to be completed within 2 minutes, 50 seconds (for Male); 4 minutes (for Female); 3 minutes, 15 seconds (for Ex-servicemen)
» Shot-Put : 20 feet with weight of 7.260 kgs (for Male); 16 feet with weight of 4 kgs (for Female) 15 feet with weight of 7.260 kgs (for Ex-servicemen)
STAGE-III : Selection List
On the basis of marks obtained in written exam and the performance of physical test, the candidates will be shortlisted. Only the candidates declared successful in above-mentioned tests will be selected.
