JKPSC KAS Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Bachelor degree in any subject from recognized university.

Eligibility: Candidate has to be a domicile of UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

KAS Exam Pattern

The JKPSC KAS Preliminary Examination is comprise of two papers having 200 marks each. Thus there are total 400 marks in Prelims. Both of the question papers have objective type multiple choice questions. Each paper is of Two hours’ duration.

On the other hand Main Written Exam is consist of the eight papers. In Mains, Paper-I of English language is qualifying whereas the remaining seven papers have 250 marks each. Standard of exam is Degree level. The question papers of KAS Mains Exam are of conventional / essay type. Each paper is of Three hours’ duration. JKPSC KAS Interview Questions

Candidates, who qualify in Main Written Exam, has to face a panel of Members of the Commission for personality test in shape of interview for 250 marks. Candidates will be asked questions on matters of general interest. Aim of the personality test is to assess the personal suitability of the candidate for a career in public service. Interview is really an assessment of not only his intellectual qualities but also social traits and his interest in current affairs. Some of the qualities to be judged are mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, clear and logical exposition, balance of judgement, variety and depth of interest, ability for social cohesion and leadership, intellectual and moral integrity.
