Qualification (SSR): 12th Pass with Math & Physics and at least one of the subjects viz, Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer Science.
Qualification (AA): 12th Pass with 60% marks in aggregate with Math & Physics and Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer Science.
Age limit: Born between 01.08.2000 to 31.07.2003 (Both dates inclusive).

Salary: Monthly stipend of Rs.14600/- during training period. On successful completion of initial training, to be placed in Level-3 of Defence Pay Matrix (Rs.21700-69100/-) along with all other allowances.
Selection process: Selection shall be through Written/Practical/Physical tests which shall be conducted out of 100 marks.

One may apply only for one entry between MR (Chef/ Steward/ Sanitary Hygienist). All applications for AA and SSR, MR, MUS can be submitted through online mode. Selection Procedure of Sailor Recruits in Indian Navy

Shortlisting of application is done on the basis of higher education percentage of marks. Selection of Artificer Apprentices (AA) recruits is based on the all India order of merit on the performance of candidates in computer based online examination. Selection of Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR) is based on State-wise merit of their performance in computer based online test. Final selection for all recruits is subject to qualifying the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Medical Fitness Examinations. Proficiency in sports, swimming and extra-curricular activities is desirable.

Scheme of Sailor Entrance Exam in Indian Navy

A common examination will be conducted for Artificer Apprentices (AA) and Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR) entries. Computer based question paper will have a total of 100 questions, each carrying 01 mark. Examination will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and objective type (multiple-choice). There will four sections of question paper i.e. English, Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge. Standard of examination will be equivalent of 10+2 syllabus. Duration of examination will be one hour. Applicants must have to pass in all sections in aggregate. For each wrong question attempted, one fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as negative marking penalty.

Merit List of all qualified candidates in all respects will be prepared at IHQ MoD (Navy), New Delhi for different entries. Out of the merit, the centre-wise select list of candidates will be displayed in the respective recruitment centres. Call letter for final medical examination will be forwarded only to medically qualified candidates in the select list. Result will be available to download at above link.
