Combined Medical Services Examination, abbreviated as, CMS Exam is conducted every year by Union Public Service Commission. It is a combined examination for recruitment to the services and posts mentioned below. The UPSC CMS Exam-2018 has comp-up with following Four Hundred Fifty Four (454) vacancy openings.

  • Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in Indian Railways — 300 Posts
  • Assistant Medical Officer in Indian Ordnance Factories Health Services — 16 Posts
  • Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Services — 138 Posts

This year No vacancy is released for the posts of General Duty Medical Officer or GDMO Gr.II in Delhi Municipal Corporation/NDMC.

Eligibility Standards Of “Combined Medical Services Exam”…

A. Qualification Candidate should have passed the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S Examination. A candidate who has appeared or has yet to appear at the final year/semester of MBBS may also apply.
B. Experience No experience is required.
C. Age Bar candidate must not have attained the age of 32 years as on 01.08.2018, i.e. the candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1986. Upper age is relaxable according to the rules of Central Govt of India.
D. Gender Male & Female both type of candidates may apply to UPSC CMS Exam.

How To Apply To UPSC Combined Medical Services Exam-2018?

A. Application Fee: Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India, or by using Credit/Debit Card. Female/SC/ST and Physically Handicapped candidates are exempted from fee.

B. Important Dates:
a. Issuing date of notification by UPSC: 02.05.2018
b. Starting date of online application: 02.05.2018
c. Closing date of online application: 25.05.2018 (till 6.00 P.M.)
d. Closing date of depositing the fee through Bank/Pay-in Slip: 24.05.2018
e. Closing date of depositing the fee through online mode: 25.05.2018
f. Date of written examination: 22.07.2018

UPSC Combined Medical Services Examination Pattern…

Computer Based Examination: The candidates will take the Computer based examination in two Papers, each Paper carrying a maximum of 250 marks. Each Paper will be of two hours duration. There will be penalty (or so called ‘Negative Marking’) for wrong answers in objective type question papers. For every wrong answer, 0.33 marks will be deducted.

Candidates who qualify in computer based examination will be called to appear for Interview/ Personality Test. This will carry 100 marks. Personality Test will be intended to serve as a supplement to the computer exam for testing the General Knowledge and ability of the candidates in the fields of their academic study. Interview will also assess the candidate’s ability for social cohesion, intellectual curiosity, critical powers of assimilation, character, initiative and capability for leadership.
