SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria

Educational qualification is Bachelor Degree in any subject. CA / CMA / Company Secretary / M.Com / MBA Finance is desirable qualification for the posts of Asst Audit Officer and Asst Accounts Officer.

Candidate should have Graduate degree in any discipline for the posts of Superintendent, Asst Section Officer, Inspector in Central Excise, Preventive Officer, Examiner, Income Tax Inspector, Asst Enforcement Officer, Sub Inspector CBI, Divisional Accountant, Inspector in Central Bureau of Narcotics, Sub Inspector NIA , Auditor, Accountant, Secretariat Assistant, UDC, Tax Assistant etc.

For the post of Junior Statistical Officer, qualification is Graduate degree in any course with 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level (or) Graduation with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

SSC CGL Recruitment 2022 Selection Procedure

SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam is consists of following successive stages. Candidates have to qualify all these steps one-by-one.

  1. Tier-1 Exam: Computer based objective test (CBT)
  2. Tier-2 Exam: Computer based objective test (CBT)
  3. Tier-3 Exam: Pen & Paper based descriptive test
  4. Tier-4 Exam: Skill test / Computer proficiency test

Tier-I Exam:

Duration of test is 60 minutes. There is negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in this exam. Following table shows the complete details of SSC CGL Tier-I Exam.

Tier-II Exam:

There are four papers in this exam. Duration of each paper is 2 hours. Paper-I and Paper-II are compulsory for all the posts. Paper-III is only for Junior Statistical Officer. Paper-IV is only for posts of Asst Audit Officer and Asst Accounts Officer. There is negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer in Paper-II and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I, Paper-III and Paper-IV. Tier-III Exam:

This exam is descriptive type through Pen and Paper mode. Candidates have to answer descriptive questions in English or Hindi language. Question paper is consist of Writing of Essay / Precis / Letter / Application etc. There are maximum 100 marks. Total duration is 60 minutes. Tier-IV Exam:

This is computer proficiency test (CPT) and Data Entry Speed Test (DEST). All shortlisted candidates have to appear in skill test for knowledge of computer and data entry.

Date entry skills will be check for the post of Tax Assistant only. Candidates should have a data entry speed of 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Depression per hour on Computer. This test will be conducted for a passage of about 2000 (two thousand) key depressions for a duration of 15 minutes. Computer Proficiency Test will be hold to check following three modules – (i) Word Processing, (ii) Spread Sheet and (iii) Generation of Slides.
