Preliminary Examination: The APSC CCE Preliminary Examination is consist of two papers. Both of two papers have objective type multiple choice questions. Duration of both papers is two hours each. First paper is General studies- I. This has max 200 marks. Second paper is General studies- II. Similarly this one also has max 200 marks. APSC CCE Prelims Exam 2020 is OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) answer sheet basis. Please note that there is negative marking of 0.25 marks for incorrect answers.

Main Examination: The APSC CCE Mains Written Examination is consist of two language papers which are compulsory. It also include One Essay paper, Two papers from Optional Subject, and Five papers from General Studies. Duration of each paper is Three hours. Language Paper- A: Any one of the regional languages from Assamese, Bengali, Bodo. Candidates from Dima-Hasao, Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts may be exempted from appearing in Paper A.

Language Paper- A: English language test. Both language papers are initial part of APSC CCE Mains Exam 2020. These are qualifying only. Marks obtain in language paper will not be included in merit. However every candidate has to secure at least 25% marks to qualify the language test paper.
