Agniveer Salary for 1st Year Service
At the very 1st year of service, each Agnivir salary for the Indian Army, Air Force, and Indian Navy is Rs 30000 per month. But this whole amount is not to be paid in once. Agniveers get only 70% amount of monthly salary i.e Rs 21000 in their pocket. Rest 30% amount i.e Rs 9000 goes as contribution to the Agniveer Corpus Fund. Agneevir Salary for 4th Year Service

Agneepath Agniveer Pay Scale, Allowance, Benefits
Each Agniveer is to be cover under Rs 48 Lakh Life Insurance Cover during service. The good thing is that this life insurance is non-contributory. It means soldier do not have to pay any amount for this. Secondly, he gets a lump sum amount of Rs 11.71 Lakh as Seva Nidhi package after the exit from 4-years service. Presently there is no income tax on Seva Nidhi amount. In addition, there are Travel, Ration, Accommodation, Dress, Risk and Hardship allowances as applicable to the regular recruits. There is a provision of 30 days leaves, medical facility as well as canteen facility during the Agniveer service.
Exemptions from Agniveer Salary Package
Agniveer salary structure provides a list of many payouts. Though there are some financial benefits which are exempted from Agneevir salary package. Following list shows a sample of such benefits.
- The pay is a composite package. Agniveer do not get any Dearness Allowance (DA) and Military Service Pay (MSP).
- Agniveers do not have to pay any contribution in Armed Forces Personnel PF or any other Provident Fund.
- There shall be no entitlement towards gratuity or pension for Agnipath Scheme.
- There is no healthcare, CSD canteen or such other facility after the end of 4-year service.
Agniveer Seva Nidhi Package
(a) Seva Nidhi: Agniveers get an amount of Rs 11.71 Lakh at the time of discharge after 4 years of service. This is called the Agniveer Seva Nidhi Package. There is no income tax on Seva Nidhi. This money comes from the corpus fund which is consist of following contributions.
- Rs 5.02 lakh from Agniveer salary
- Rs 5.02 lakh from GOI contribution
- Rate of the interest on corpus fund
After 4-years, the Agniveers who are subsequently selected for enrollment as regular cadre, the “Seva Nidhi” package will comprise only their contribution plus interest thereon. There is no Govt contribution in case of Agniveer exits from the service before the end of their engagement period on their own request.
Agnipath Life Insurance Cover
The Agniveers are eligible to get a free insurance cover of Rs 48 lakh. This is insurance for the duration of their service period as per Agneepath Scheme introduced by the govt of India. Recruit is not to pay any contribution to avail this facility.
Aginveer Payment of Disability / Death
Non-contributory covers of various funds in case of death or disability are attributable to the service. So extent of disability or functional incapacity is to be determined in the following manner for the the compensation.
Payment on Death during Bonafide duty (Category ‘Y’ / ’Z’)
- Insurance Cover of Rs 48 lakhs.
- One-time ex-gratia Rs 44 Lakhs.
- Full pay for an unserved period upto four years (with effect from date of death).
- Complete Seva Nidhi component.
Payment on Death during not on duty (Category ‘X’)
- Insurance Cover of Rs 48 lakhs.
- Complete Seva Nidhi fund.
Disability Payment (attributed / aggravated due to conditions of engagement)
- One-time exgratia Rs 44 / Rs 25 / Rs 15 Lakhs based on % of disability (i.e. 100 / 75 / 50) from Public Fund.
- Full pay for an unserved period upto four years (with effect from date of disability).
- Complete Seva Nidhi component.
