Eligibility and selection criteria for UPSC Examination 2018
Candidates applying for the UPSC Examination should fulfill all the below-mentioned eligibility conditions.
- Applicant should be a citizen of India and should be between 21 to 32 years of age.
- Applicant should have a degree in any discipline from recognized university and should be physically fit according to standards for admission to Civil Services Examination.
- The total number of attempts for the preliminary examination should not exceed more than 6 attempts.
Syllabus and exam pattern for UPSC Examination 2018
The exam is conducted in three stages.
- Phase 1: preliminary examination
- Phase 2: main examination
- Phase 3: those candidates who have cleared both prelims and main are eligible for personal interview.

Fees and registration process for UPSC Examination 2018
Interested candidates can register by filling their applications available on the official website both through online and offline. The application charges are Rs. 100/- only and is charged only for the male candidates and it is free for both female and other SC/ST candidates.
