Find the latest selection methodology adopted by Bihar Public Service Commission for the recruitment on posts of Assistant Engineers in various services and departments of Bihar Govt.

The Commission will conduct a Mains Examination to shortlist/select the eligible candidates. Candidates have to secure at least 30% marks in Hindi and English papers of Main exam. For all rest papers the minimum cut-off shall be 40% for reserved categories, 36.6% for Backward categories, 34% for SBC categories, and 32% for SC/ST/Physically Disabled/Women candidates. Candidates, shortlisted in such of the way, shall further be called for Viva-voce test/Interview.

There will be Six papers in written exam, out of which two will be Optional and 04 will be compulsory. These shall have General Hindi, General English, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering papers.

To prepare the merit list of most suitable candidates, the Commission will use the marks obtained by candidates in Written Mains Examination and Interview. The marks of Hindi and English papers shall not be counted to prepare the merit list.

Please note that if the Bihar Public Service Commission receives a large number of applications, a preliminary test could also be conducted. In such situation candidates shall be informed in a timely manner.
